US Vice President Mike Pence referred to the Holocaust as "the greatest evil ever perpetuated by man against man in the long catalogue of human crime," at the Fifth World Holocaust Forum at the Yad Vashem memorial museum in Jerusalem on Thursday.
Pence also urged world leaders to "stand strong against the leading state purveyor of anti-Semitism, against the one government in the world that denies the Holocaust as a matter of state policy and threatens to wipe Israel off the map. The world must stand strong against the Islamic Republic of Iran."
Both Russian President Putin and Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu shook hands with Pence following his speech.
The ceremony marks the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz and the International Holocaust Remembrance Day. The program includes speeches from heads of states and Holocaust survivors.
