Obama: ‘I’m the First Kenyan-American to Be President of the United States’

During his final day on his trip to Kenya, President Obama had no problem engaging an energetic crowd in Nairobi.
“I am proud to be the first American president to come to Kenya,” Obama said Sunday. As Obama uttered the latter statement, he smiled and chuckled — presumably over the theories of some that he was not born on American soil. Aides told the Los Angeles Times that Sunday marked the first time since taking office that Obama has publicly referred to himself as a “Kenyan American.”
His half-sister, Auma Obama, organized a dinner with several dozen distant relatives who drove in from faraway villages.
