French President Francois Hollande alongside the victims of November 2015's Paris attacks participated in the commemorative plaque unveiling ceremony outside the Stade de France, in the French capital on Sunday, in honour of those who lost their lives one year ago. The unveiling is one of many commemoration ceremonies planned in Paris on Sunday.
The multiple attacks, for which the self-proclaimed Islamic State (IS, formerly ISIS/ISIL) claimed responsibility, targeted the Bataclan concert hall, restaurants, bars and the Stade de France during a football friendly match between France and Germany, killing over 130 people in total.
The commemorative plaque was unveiled in honour of Manuel Dias, a 63-year-old chauffeur, who had just dropped off a group of spectators outside the main entrance of the Stade de France, when a suicide bomber blew himself up in the first of three explosions.
On Saturday, pop star Sting re-opened the Bataclan where 90 people died, the deadliest site of the Paris attacks. Before starting the show, Sting asked the audience to hold a moment of silence in memory of the attacks victims.
