21.04.2015
In a new report by the Committee to Protect Journalists, a small country in the Horn of Africa was named the world's most censored place on Tuesday, beating out North Korea for the title. Eritrea, a country slightly larger than Pennsylvania that borders the Red Sea, Ethiopia, Djibouti and Sudan, is no stranger to the media watchdogs, having topped the list as recently as 2012. North Korea, where just 9.7% of the population has a cell phone and media is controlled by the state, came in second. The report also says that fewer than 1% of the population in Eritrea has access to the Internet — which is controlled by the government — and just 5.6% of the population has a mobile phone.
